Paweł Zając is an artist with experience gained over many years of work in design and making of mosaics, as well as in graphic design and painting.Zając has also extensive experience in restoration work. He has spent many years in Italv, Austria and in France where he worked on several historic castles and mansions. In Austria he worked practically single-handed on the restoration of Schloss Wayerburg for Isabelle d’Orleans , the daughter of the pretender to the French throne.It is in Italy that Mr Zając discovered his great passion for mosaics, which he studied extensively in Ravenna, where he was fascinated by the technique of opaque glass developed there in the 7th century. For his own mosaics he uses the world-renowned Venetian hand-crafted glass “smalti e ori”. His other passion is “objets d’art” in glass. He designs and produces glass sculptures and artistic glassware in his own studio.

Paweł Zając lives and works in a small town in western Poland, not far from the city of Poznan.

While the mosaics illustrated in his references are not for sale, orders for special works can be placed with his workshop.
